Belt size guide
Your belt size is your trouser waist plus two inches, measured from the buckle's prong to the middle hole. Use the chart below, or measure a belt that already fits.

How to measure an existing belt
The most accurate way to size is to measure a belt that already fits you.
- Lay the belt flat on a table.
- Measure from the buckle's prong, where it hinges on the buckle, to the hole you use most. Do not measure the total belt length.
- That length in inches is your belt size. If it falls between two sizes, choose the larger one.
If you don't have a belt to measure
Use your trouser waist size, the number on the label of trousers that fit you, and add 2 inches. A man who wears 32 waist trousers needs a 34 belt. The extra length lets the strap pass through the buckle and the first belt loop, and puts you on the middle hole.
Between sizes
HIDEA belts have five holes spaced one inch apart, so each size covers two inches either side of the middle hole. If your trousers sit low on the hips or you wear jeans with a lower rise, choose one size up. Our reversible belts can also be trimmed at the buckle end for an exact fit.
Belt width: 30 mm vs 35 mm vs 38 mm
- 30–32 mm suits suits and formal trousers with slim belt loops.
- 35 mm is the everyday width that works with both chinos and formal trousers.
- 38–40 mm is a casual width for jeans and heavier denim loops.
