Braided Belts

A braided belt is woven from strips of leather rather than cut from a single strap. Because the buckle pin can go through any gap in the weave, the fit is exact rather than in one-inch steps, which makes braided belts unusually comfortable for long days and after big meals.

When to wear a braided belt

Braided belts are relaxed by nature. They look best with chinos, linen trousers, shorts and lighter denim, and are a natural fit for Indian summers, holidays and smart-casual events. They are not a substitute for a formal belt with a suit.

Leather braid vs elastic braid

Many braided belts sold online are elastic cord or PU strips. Ours are woven from full-grain leather strips, so they stay firm, do not sag, and age with the same patina as our casual belts.

Sizing a braided belt

Choose your trouser waist + 2, exactly as for other belts. Because you can fasten at any point in the weave, a braided belt covers a wider range of waist sizes comfortably. The size guide has the full chart.

Care

Do not pull the weave apart to force the pin through; push it gently between the strips. Wipe with a dry cloth and condition lightly once or twice a year.
